I can&#8217;t adequately express <a title=\"Open letter to Ben Affleck, or please shut up Matt Damon\" href=\"http:\/\/jamesrichardson.net\/jtalk\/2013\/08\/28\/open-letter-to-ben-affleck-or-please-shut-up-matt-damon\/\">how much this character has meant to me<\/a> over the years. He has been <a title=\"To ink or not to ink\u2026. that is the question!\" href=\"http:\/\/jamesrichardson.net\/jtalk\/2012\/08\/25\/too-ink-or-not-to-ink\/\">my hero, my role model, and my inspiration<\/a> since I was little boy. <a title=\"I do crazy stuff when I get bored.\" href=\"http:\/\/jamesrichardson.net\/jtalk\/2013\/07\/04\/i-do-crazy-stuff-when-i-get-bored\/\">I have always looked up to him and probably always will<\/a>. As a\u00a0<!--more-->47 year old man I realize that this might sound a trifle strange. But much in the same way that some of our ancestors looked towards mythological characters like Hercules, Thor, and Gilgamesh for inspiration, Batman and his comic book compatriots are the modern day versions of these old heroes.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"A dark night indeed\" href=\"http:\/\/jamesrichardson.net\/jtalk\/2012\/07\/21\/a-dark-night-indeed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Batman has taught me to never give up and always do what&#8217;s right<\/a>, even when doing what is right is difficult. Thank you Batman, and Happy Birthday!
