The Batman first appeared in Detective comics issue #27 in May 1939. I can’t adequately express how much this character has meant to me<\/a> over the years. He has been my hero, my role model, and my inspiration<\/a> since I was little boy. I have always looked up to him and probably always will<\/a>. As a\u00a047 year old man I realize that this might sound a trifle strange. But much in the same way that some of our ancestors looked towards mythological characters like Hercules, Thor, and Gilgamesh for inspiration, Batman and his comic book compatriots are the modern day versions of these old heroes.<\/p>\n

Batman has taught me to never give up and always do what’s right<\/a>, even when doing what is right is difficult. Thank you Batman, and Happy Birthday! Here is to the next 74 years.<\/p>\n
