Once again I was happy to be counted among the scholars from the Humanities Department. The main article that I was being recognized for writing this year was one that was especially dear to me.<\/p>\n<p>The peer reviewed article was highlighted in the <a title=\"JITP\" href=\"http:\/\/jitp.commons.gc.cuny.edu\/\">Journal of Interactive Technology and Pedagogy<\/a> on the need for the academe to <a title=\"Changing tenure and promotion standards \u2013 JITP Online Journal\" href=\"http:\/\/jamesrichardson.net\/jtalk\/2013\/05\/15\/changing-tenure-and-promotion-standards-jitp-online-journal\/\">expand the definition of scholarship include the contributions of faculty engaged in digital media<\/a>. I had invested <a title=\"Behind the Seams at JITP \u2013 Changing Tenure Standards\" href=\"http:\/\/jamesrichardson.net\/jtalk\/2013\/05\/15\/behind-the-seams-at-jitp\/\">a fair amount of blood, sweat and tears in researching this article<\/a> and it was a great feeling to have it pay off.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Gail Mellow holds a publishing reception every year to acknowledged faculty at LaGuardia Community College for their academic and creative accomplishments.
