The purpose of the video was to give potential students an <a href=\"http:\/\/sps.cuny.edu\/programs\/ba_commedia\" title=\"Communication and Media Program\">overview of the program and the admission requirements<\/a>. The information in the video is very similar to the material that we present to attendees to <a href=\"http:\/\/jamesrichardson.net\/jtalk\/2013\/10\/30\/the-sps-bachelor-degree-program-info-session\/\" title=\"The SPS Bachelor Degree Program Info Session\">our monthly open house sessions<\/a>. I was excited to record this video because not everyone can make it to the in-person informational sessions that we hold during the semester. <\/p>\n<p>For those of you that are unaware, the Communication and Media program at the SPS is a four year online degree program that offers an interdisciplinary focus on issues related to the convergence between new and traditional media. The goal of the program is to prepare <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>students for future by equipping them with the knowledge required to respond to the technological shifts changing the employment landscape. This will include ensuring that students are conversant with universally established technologies that are transforming media and communication across various industries.<\/p>\n<p>The curriculum has been designed to enable graduates to identify emerging opportunities using digital media in areas such as business, information technology, education, journalism, entertainment, publishing, and health-care.
