The discussion was held at the CUNY &#8211; University Faculty Senate (UFS) Conference on Online Education. <\/p>\n<p>There were breakout sessions on numerous topics dealing with the future direction of online education. The new <!--more-->Chancellor, James B. Milliken, who is a staunch advocate for expanding the range of offerings in online courses and degrees at CUNY, gave the opening remarks. The <a title=\"UFS Conference Speakers\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/universityfacultysenatecuny\/senate-action\/conferences-events\/online-education-what-we-know-and-what-we-need-to-ask----fall-2014\/speaker-biographies\">speakers presenting yesterday<\/a> included some of CUNY&#8217;s most notable pioneers in the area of online instruction. I was honored to be asked to participate in the discussion.<\/p>\n<p>The video above contains excerpts from the talk and runs about 10 minutes long. I posted the excerpts for those of you with short attention spans.
