It is a yearly habit for me to stop by my moms house on her\u00a0birthday<\/a> for junk food. The meal is usually the same, White Castle hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, and birthday cake. I always pay for the dinner the next day but it is still all good. It is a chance for she and I to just chill and reconnect in the place where she raised me. For so many years after my father past away it was just the two of us in that apartment. I sometimes forget that I wasn’t always the easiest child to raise. However she never gave up on me and I never doubted that she would always have my back.<\/p>\n

Another year has gone by\u00a0and I and very fortunate to be able to spend it with my mother. I am not at all religious but I do feel a bit blessed to still have her in my life when many of my friends are not as lucky. She is in great heath and spirits, and continues to be a veritable force of nature in the lives of everyone she encounters. I am fortunate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
