Assignment Reflection

This assignment was the third in a series of projects designed to test our skill in using Microsoft Publisher 2003. The instructions for this project were to create an invitation to a musical concert from a blank publication. We needed to create the basic elements for a flyer and then add in elements predetermined by the professor. This was an interesting and enjoyable project because it allowed us the freedom to be creative, but at the same time challenged us to maintain the consistency of predetermined elements in the project.

My favorite part of any assignment is the design portion of it. This is probably because I am an artist at heart. The most valuable lesson that I learned from this project is how to better mold a design concept so that it conforms to, and draws in, the type of audience that I am trying to reach. In all, I believe that I adequately completed the project by achieving a balanced look between the design elements and the text content to be presented.
