During my sabbatical year I was fortunate enough to secure an opportunity to serve as a Visiting Scholar at NYU’s Interactive Telecomunications Program. It was somewhat of a homecoming for me since this was the program that I graduated from nearly two decades earlier.
One of the things that was very evident to me at the start was how young all of the current students and faculty seemed. And yet, they all had that look of excitement and anticipation that I always associated with ITP. It was refreshing to see that while some things had changed completely, others remained exactly the same.
It was a great experience, but unfortunately it was one that ultimately was shortened by the outbreak of the pandemic. I don’t think that I need to say it, but I will. This whole COVID, Corona, whatever we are calling this global pandemic really sucks.
