ePortfolio Conference Planning

ePortfolio Conference Planning

I am starting to stress out just a little bit. You see over the next couple of days I have a series of presentations that I am giving at a major national conference LaGuardia is hosting. The conference, “Making Connections: ePortfolios, Integrative Learning and Assessment“, is on the topic of ePortfolios and how they can be utilized to assess student and institutional growth.

We have educators from around the country, and a few from outside the US, coming to attend the conference. Pre-registration currently has the enrollment hovering around 500 people. The planning team from the LaGuardia Center for Teaching and Learning, the group sponsoring the conference, were shocked by the outpouring of interest in the session. They had originally had only expected about 200 people.

The 3 day conference is right around the corner, and as I said, I am starting to stress. Each of the breakout sessions are 75 minutes in length. While I am used to speaking in front of people, it is always a little bit nerve racking. I am speaking on the topics of Selecting ad ePortfolio system, Integrating ePortfolios into your discipline, and the Future of ePortfolios. The majority of my presentations are on Friday (3 sessions) with a repeat of the systems selection talk happening on Saturday morning (1 session).

I am sure that the talks will go well. But…..I am still starting to stress.
