Time to “Phone Home”.

I finally broke down and traded my old Samsung imitation Sidekick for the Galaxy S3. I was tired of getting laughed at by friends and family. I love this phone so much that I got one for the wife as well. I snagged the 32gb models and popped in a 64gb micro SD chip for a total of 96GB of storage space. I am so happy that I got this one instead of the iPhone 5, which maxs out at just 64GBs.

The 4.1.1 Android OS based Galaxy S3 is not as simple or user friendly as the Apple iOS 6, but it offers infinitely more customization. Not having to go through iTunes to add video or music to the phone is such a joy. Especially for would be internet pirates that obtain files from all over the web. You can easily add downloaded videos and music without having to do hours of iPhone friendly format conversions. Plus, so many of the apps that can be purchased for the iPad are strangely enough available for free on the Android platform. But while the video and photo capabilities of the Galaxy S3 are really very good, I am not ready to trade in my Kodak Zi8 portable or my Canon T3i just yet. Overall, I feel like I got a slightly better all around phone for less than a third of the price for an iPhone. I should have upgraded months ago.
